Beyond Occupation

Beyond Occupation is my space to share perspective on controversial topics, personal life experiences, and professional considerations. As occupational therapy becomes increasingly influenced by the politics of our time, I believe it is vital to protect the freedom of thought, the freedom of voice, and the ability to remain objective. This platform allows me to advocate openly for the ways my life, experiences, education, culture, values, and roles shape not only who I am, but also the science I pursue and the professional I continue to become.

Beyond Occupation represents the truth that an occupational therapist can be both fully professional and deeply authentic — embracing the beliefs and lived experiences that inform their work, while standing firmly for integrity, advocacy, and the bigger picture of human occupation.
